Sailed through Julia Creek last time but it’s well worth the stop. Great neat little town – although the fuel was super expensive. Love to look at the railway station too but this one is a disaster!! But …… the park was good and cheap with an artesian spa and the shop reasonable. It has a couple of pubs and a great pool complex. Anyone going through in a couple of months time will be in for a real treat.
They are in the process of building a very extensive nocturnal display for their very famous Dunnart. It’s a cute little rat like animal and to be able to see them will be great. They have been rescued from extinction and if you call into the Information Centre you can read all about them.
Julia Creek has also gone to the trouble to light up their water tower, so you can go down the street at night and have a look. Very imposing all over the town.
